Do I need to order flint cards and butane with this item in order for it to be useable?

It comes with a flint and wick so you don't need to order those, unless you want spare ones. It uses lighter fluid and you will need to purchase that, we can't legally ship it. You can find lighter fluid at most convenience stores and supermarkets, as well as cigar shops.

Can i engrave a saying on the zippo lighter with the army crest? Or with engraving is there a limit?

Verified BuyerI Love my engraved US Army Zippo lighter. I use it all the time now (even though I have more zippos from this company). The Engraving is great, just be careful what font you use and how much you want engraved because some fonts are easier to see than others, and make sure you know what you want because that engraving is exactly what you will get.
Pros
- It's a Zippo and will light every time even in heavy wind.
- It's personally engraved.
- The Army emblem is really nice.
- This business will go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied with your product.
- Everyone old enough to understand fire should have a Zippo, even if they don't smoke, because you never know when you might need fire.
Cons
- Flint and Wick and Lighter Fluid need to be replaced when they run out.
- This isn't a Con, per se', because the lighter is built to last. It's not a cheap Bic, people.
- It's only a Con if you are too lazy or too cheap to buy flints, wicks or fluid.

Well to start off the lighter is the best lighter i ever owned. Second i will never ever switch my zippo for no nothing else again this lighter is the best ever point blank, plus ya did a very good job on the engraving
