Could you tell me the dimensions of the notepad space, and is this a "standard" pad easily purchased from an office supply?

The notepad holder is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and holds a 3" x 3" notepad easily. This is a standard post-it note size that you can find at any local stationery store or office store.

Can you get it with blue ink?

No, sorry, it only comes with black ink. You can put in a blue ink refill once you get it though. You can purchase this at any stationery store.
