Can the engraving be put on vertical?

Yes, that is how we would normally engrave this item. The three initials are engraved vertically, one on top of another.

I don't understand the engraving questions. Does that mean the letters are going to be "stacked" and how do I know what size to choose as I don't fully know what size the space to put them in will be? I want 2 letters - and would prefer to have them side by side. They are "BB".

The engraving on the Polished Silver Mechanical Pocket Watch & Chain by Charles Hubert is limited to 3 letters and is done on the front shield area of the front of the watch. It is usually done vertically, so 1 letter per line. Most people do initials. If you would prefer 2 letters to be done horizontally, you can enter the engraving you would like in the comment section at the bottom of the checkout page. Please make sure to advise that you want them done horizontally, and not vertically. Unfortunately since this is not how it is typically done, we do not have the preview option.

It says you can have up to 3 letters engraved. I assume if I only request one letter it will be centered in the Shield looking thing on the front? It doesn't specify where the engraving goes.

Yes, the engraving does go on the front shield of the pocket watch. If you'd only like 1 letters engraved, we would make it larger so that it will look proportionally correct in the engraving shield. I hope that helps!

I ordered this watch with eight lines of engraving - four each on front and back. The following day, customer support proactively called me to confirm that I really wanted the extra watch chain that was on my order (I did), Two days after my order, an email arrived with my tracking number and the watch was on its way. It arrived a few days later well packaged.
