Weekly Contest – 1st Prize - $100.00 Gift Certificate!
We have begun a weekly contest at Executive Gift Shoppe with the grand prize being a $100.00 gift certificate. This can be used towards a purchase of any of our fine gift products. The rules of the contest are simple and there will be a winner every week, GUARANTEED! If you are the only entrant, guess what? YOU WIN!
This is basically a “Funniest Story” contest with some simple parameters. The requirements are as follows:
1) Story must be funny
2) Story must be a minimum of 500 words
3) Story must involve “Gift Giving” or “Gift Receiving”
4) It is preferable (but not mandatory) that someone be embarrassed by the story you’re giving us for consideration
That’s it. The rest is up to you. Your story can involve a horrible gift you got for your birthday like a lime green Cardigan sweater. It can involve the flask with the bottle of Jack Daniel’s you gave to your boss for Christmas, despite the fact that he’s a recovering alcoholic.
In fact this weekly contest was inspired, in part, by a groom who had gotten his whole wedding party Zippo Lighters. He presented the personalized lighters to his groomsmen only to realize 4 of them had gone to a hypnotist 4 days earlier to quit smoking! Needless to say, he was quite embarrassed by the whole incident but, thankfully, both he and his buddies saw the humor in it.
We will give careful consideration to each and every story entered into this weekly drawing. We maintain sole discretion over the selection process. This may lead to some hurt feelings or disagreements as humor is subjective and we apologize in advance.
Executive Gift Shoppe will publish the weekly winner in our blog, so you will also achieve a small level of fame and fanfare from being our contest winner. Your 15 minutes, if you will. Please do note that we reserve the right to publish any and every story we receive on the Executive Gift Shoppe
There are 2 requirements for your story. You’ll need to include a title and it will need to be about 500 words long. We will not be sticklers for this, however. Just get it in the ballpark. If your story is 450 words long, we’ll let it slide. You can e-mail your contest entry to info@executivegiftshoppe.com.
All entries must be sent to us by 5PM Eastern Standard Time on Friday afternoon. If you miss this deadline, you're entry will be moved to the following week. Winnders will be announced on Tuesday afternoon. We look forward to your entries and may the best story win!
